Museum Nasional Indonesia (MNI) berbenah diri. Setelah peristiwa kebakaran yang terjadi 16 September 2023, museum tertua di Indonesia segera dibuka untuk umum pada 15 Oktober 2024 dengan wajah baru.
Wajah baru yang digaung-gaungkan oleh MNI di bawah naungan Indonesian Heritage Agency (IHA) nggak sekadar isapan jempol belaka. Mereka siap membongkar area fasad gedung lebih terbuka bagi siapapun termasuk saat car free day.
Penanggung Jawab Unit (PJU) Museum Nasional Indonesia Ni Luh Putu Chandra Dewi ngomong penampilan wajah baru ini bakal digarap secara bertahap hingga Desember 2026.
“Ada narasi baru ketika dibukanya kembali MNI sampai beberapa tahun ke depan, dengan narasi baru ini kita berupaya meningkatkan fasilitas pelayanan. Nggak cuma ruang pamer tapi juga ada perpustakaan yang bisa dikunjungi oleh publik umum,” kata perempuan yang akrab disapa Chandra saat jumpa pers di MNI, Jalan Merdeka Barat, Jakarta Pusat pada Jumat (11/10/2
Tak cuma area ruang baca dan perpustakaan saja loh detikers, tapi Chandra melanjutkan ada ruang khusus untuk cendramata dan nongkrong buat ngopi.
“Ini jadi satu hal yang penting dengan dibukanya kembali. Menuju program yang lebih dekat dengan pengunjung dan masyarakat,” tuturnya.
Layaknya museum bertaraf internasional, MNI juga akan ada ruang anak dengan aktivasi yang interaktif dan program-program edukasi berkualitas.
Chandra menegaskan di periode pembukaan kembali MNI yang bertajuk Reimajinasi itu, pihaknya nampilin dua pameran terbesar. Pameran pemulihan penanganan pasca kebakaran yang berjudul Menabuh Nekara Menyiram Api.
