Tempat penangkaran buaya di Kelurahan Sayang, Kecamatan Cianjur, Kabupaten Cianjur, Provinsi Jawa Barat, jebol pada Rabu (2/10). Penyebabnya adalah hujan deras yang membuat tembok penangkaran rusak.
Sontak, kejadian tersebut membuat warga di lingkungan sekitar merasa cemas dan khawatir karena sejumlah buaya diyakini lepas. Kendati demikian, belum diketahui berapa ekor buaya lepas dari penangkaran.
Dikutip CNN Indonesia (4/10) terdapat video yang beredar di media sosial yang merekam upaya warga mencari buaya-buaya yang lepas keluar penangkaran. Warga menyisir sawah dan semak-semak di perkampungan dan berhasil menangkap seekor buaya ukuran besar.
Lurah Sayang Wiji Eko mengatakan di penangkaran tersebut terdapat 80 ekor buaya. Jumlah tersebut berdasarkan surat penitipan BKSDA ke penangkaran.
“Informasinya dititipkan sejak 2016 oleh BKSDA. Kalau dari surat yang saya lihat ada 80 ekor yang dititip di sini,” kata dia, Kamis (3/10/2024).
Dia membenarkan ada sejumlah buaya yang keluar penangkaran akibat dinding jebol. Namun Wuju belum bisa memastikan berapa jumlah buaya yang lepas dari penangkaran.
“Dari 80 ekor tersebut ada beberapa yang kabur. Sebagian kabur ke kawasan galian C dan ada dua yang kabur ke kali dan sawah dekat pemukiman warga,” kata dia.
“Kalau jumlah pastinya belum tahu. Masih disisir sepanjang aliran sungai dan di sekitaran lokasi penangkaran. Sementara sudah ditangkap 3 ekor. Dua ditangkap di kali dan sawah, sedangkan satu lagi di kawasan galian C,” imbuhnya.
Wiji juga mengimbau kepada warga setempat untuk waspada dan melaporkan apabila melihat buaya yang keluar dari penangkaran.
“Saya sudah imbau kepada RT dan RW setempat untuk tetap waspada. Segera laporkan apabila melihat buaya,” tambahnya.
